Beach Combers

A Sci-Fi short story

About

A brilliant geneticist thinks he can supersede nature, seeking to improve on and control it, but nature has its own ideas. Unforeseen consequences will be his undoing when it all goes wrong, horribly wrong! You will never look at a pristine beach the same way, certainly not after dark!

Praise for this book

This story was smart and creative. I kept turning the pages until the end. I look forward to the next book from this author and hope it is longer. This was a quick, fun read!

I enjoyed the combination of science fiction (or is it) with real world science fact. Genetic manipulation is already occurring, so this book has reason to give one pause. But I enjoy any story about the ocean and beaches, so it also had my attention there. A quick, easy, and enjoyable read.

I don't normally read science fiction much but enjoyed this author's theme & writing style. It's a modern twist on an ancient biblical concept of "pride (or greed or human arrogance) goeth before the fall"). Not everything humans CAN do is a good idea! I can see this as a Twilight Zone episode.

For under a dollar, this book was well worth the price! It's a short story with a unique concept that is easy to follow and enjoyable from the first page to the last. I'll be keeping an eye out for more Tom Riggins short stories 👍 👍
